Casa Volunteer Coordinator Job Description (Exempt)   (Fixed Salary, Flexible Hours)
Reports To: CASA Program Director
Summary: Coordinates CASA volunteers and prospective volunteers through recruitment, retention and training activities and events. Assists in management and child cases to the CASA program. Serves as an assistant to the Program Director.
Experience: 2 years experience in the provision of social or human services is mandatory. One of these years may be in a practicum, internship or volunteer experience with children. CPS and/or court experience is a plus. Experience in social services, bi-lingual skills and non-profit agency work is desirable.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a human service field from an accredited college or university is highly desired. Training received as continuing education workshops and seminars providing specialized knowledge of case management and/or child abuse and neglect is can be considered.
Skills: Ability to professionally represent the agency while interacting with the public is necessary. Excellent written and verbal communications and public speaking skills are necessary. Expertise in training child and adult populations is preferred, with an emphasis on diverse populations. Highly motivated, team player, and a positive attitude is a must. Must possess an interest in making a difference the lives of children. Must have the ability to work independently, have effective planning and coordination of volunteer recruitment and training events; networking and public relations expertise, and computer proficiency. Able to drive, make home visits, write case notes and operate phone, computer and copier equipment. Familiarity with how confidential records are handled is a must.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Regular and timely attendance
  • Recruit prospective volunteers
  • Retain current volunteers
  • Train prospective and current volunteers
  • Interface with appropriate community professional and significant others in relation to the client needs
  • Assign CASA cases to volunteers
  • Conduct home visits
  • Assist in the supervision of volunteers who are Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) working with child and adolescent victims of child abuse and neglect
  • Maintain accurate case records
  • Attend case staff meetings
  • Attend agency sponsored training and meet requirements
  • Seek guidance when appropriate
  • Track caseload and program data through monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Demonstrates initiative
  • Comply to YFCS agency policies and procedures
  • Comply with contract standards as required
  • Utilize time efficiently
  • Other duties as assigned
