Youth & Family Counseling Services
is a United Way Agency serving Brazoria county since 1981. We are
dedicated to providing mental health services and crime prevention
programs to the community with fees based on ability to pay. Youth & Family Counseling Services
also presents community talks, parent education classes and child
abuse prevention programs. Services are delivered by trained and
professionals. Offices are located throughout Brazoria County: in Alvin, Angleton, Freeport, Pearland, West Columbia and Sweeny.
We provide counseling services for:
- Runaway and homeless youth
- Individuals, youth and families
- Children 6 years old and younger, and families with children age 6 and younger
- Children ages 7 to 17 and their families
We provide programs and training, including:
- 24-hour crisis intervention for runaways
- Client advocacy and support
- We Help Ourselves (WHO), a child abuse prevention, anti-victimization program for school-aged youth
- Parenting skills training for adults and teens
- Life skills training for youth
- Workshops, speakers, classes and in-service training for area professionals
But most of all, we offer Brazoria County families a way to solve conflicts and problems in a confidential
and professional manner.
Don't let questions go unanswered, or conflicts unresolved. There is a place - a safe place - to find help
- Fees at Youth & Family Counseling Services are based
on your ability to pay. Our main purpose is to listen and help, so no one is denied service.
- Youth & Family Counseling Services programs are funded by grants
from the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, the Federal Administration for Children,
and Families, and the United Way of Brazoria County.
- Youth & Family Counseling Services is always looking for volunteers to support
the programs and services we offer to youth throughout the county. If you are interested in volunteering your time to work
with Youth & Family Counseling Services, please give us a call.
- We are a non-profit organization, governed by a volunteer board of directors. Our honorary chairman is Nolan Ryan.
